Joana Carvalho
I'm Joana Carvalho, Principal Observability Architect at Sage. I work with teams to build observability, monitoring, and performance solutions across any stack or cloud, using tools such as OpenTelemetry, APM and Observability tools, AWS, Azure, Python, C#, and Golang.
I share what I learn in refcards, articles, and Trend Reports about observability, performance, and site reliability.
Right now, I'm working on Observability 2.0. This is about moving from static dashboards to AI-driven observability. I call this ScryOps, borrowing from the idea of scrying, which is about predicting what comes next. Here, ScryOps refers to the use of predictive analytics and machine learning in observability to spot issues before they occur. As systems become more distributed, teams need ML-powered observability to detect patterns and stop incidents early. I focus on turning these ideas into practical steps engineers can use.
